While summer might be peak smoothie season, you really can’t go wrong with the delicious, nutrient-dense beverage any time of year. Thankfully, Philly boasts a number of smoothie spots where you can get these on-the-go-friendly sips, so that you don’t have to worry about snagging all the ingredients and blending them yourself. Below, find an array of shops serving up healthy smoothies in and around the city.
1701 Arch Street, Logan Square and 210 Kings Highway East, Haddonfield, NJ
Aside from juices, blended bowls, and burritos, Ánimo is a great spot to swing by for a filling and healthy smoothie. Get something dessert-like, such as the Salted Chocolate Hemp topped with Himalayan pink sea salt, or something more protein-focused, like the Power with fruit, chia seeds, and your choice of protein powder.
1915-17 Sansom Street, Rittenhouse
Whether or not you’ve got a class booked in the Red Room, Barry’s Rittenhouse location features the brand’s signature Fuel Bar. Here, you’ll be able to order fruit-packed smoothies that include whey protein for that extra protein boost. You can also opt to add in CLA, creatine, and BCAAs for optimal performance and recovery.

1523 East Passyunk Avenue, East Passyunk
Known for its strong coffee and tasty breakfast and lunch, Black & Brew also offers smoothies that’ll keep you fueled throughout the day. You have 15 blends to choose from, like one made with iced coffee, banana and chocolate, and another featuring peaches, yogurt, banana and honey.
Swing by this Manayunk shop for a variety of bowls and smoothies. If you want to slurp through a straw, opt for blends like the Body Builder made with almond milk, banana, peanut butter and chocolate whey protein, or the Island Vibes with almond milk, spinach, banana, mango, pineapple and honey.
With a focus on boosting the immune system through “gut healing and high-quality nutrition,” Callowhill Greens presents a menu of all plant-based fare. They’ve got a robust selection of superfood smoothies — from a collagen-infused açaí and avocado blend to a total hydration smoothie featuring watermelon, cucumber and monk fruit. Make a day out of it while you’re there and grab a salad, warm bowl, avo toast, adaptogen spritzer, or scoop of vegan ice cream.
This “a ‘plant’ecary” in Rittenhouse run by sisters Taahirah and Nakia Stith is full of all things herbs, including hand-blended lattes, tonics, teas and tinctures. They also sling smoothies at the in-house Blend Bar — like the Vacay, made from dragonfruit and Dope Botanicals’ gut-health-supportive Biome blend.

With several locations across the city, Fuel brings health-forward dishes and drinks with a grab-and-go feel. Their menu of smoothies is diversely flavorful — from cold brew blended with mocha frappe to peanut butter and banana mixed with protein.
Goodbeet is a 100-percent plant-based, dairy- and gluten-free eatery/cafe/bakery/ice cream shop in Haddon Township. Here, sip on smoothies like the Birthday Cake, made with ingredients like oats, dates, and vanilla protein, or the Cherry Chocolate Bomb, which is just as decadent as it sounds.
223 Kings Highway East, Haddonfield, NJ
This Haddonfield-based shop combines two seemingly unalike, but timeless things: smoothies and classic movies. The interior of Groovy Smoovies is decked out like an old-time movie theatre, with a light-up marquee, red velvet queue ropes, a popcorn machine, and a box office ticket booth, which is where you order your smoothie. The smoothies are not only delicious, but they have punny names — “The Green Smile” and “West Side Smorey” — that are homages to Hollywood favorites.

A hub for healthy sips and bites, Juiced By B’s smoothie selection is especially fruit-forward. On the menu, there’s Date Night — a blend of dates (duh), banana, oatmeal, peanut butter and almond milk — plus Hawaiian-inspired Waikiki Treat and a very berry bevvie. You can also opt for a pre-made or build-your-own açaí or smoothie bowl, if you prefer to scoop rather than sip.
704 South 4th Street, Queen Village
This vegan eatery in Queen Village might be known for its kava, but it also has a bunch of house-blended juices and smoothies (both in glass and bowl form!) on the menu. For smoothies, you can’t go wrong with any of Lightbox’s blends, but our favorites are the Guavamelon (a combo of watermelon, guava, lime and agave) and Cantaloupe Crush.
547 North 20th Street, Spring Garden
This juicery and smoothie shop debuted in Spring Garden last May. Though juicing is their specialty, Made With Love also offers fruit- and veggie-packed smoothies, like the bright Sunny Day made with orange, mango, carrot, and pineapple, and a CBD-infused banana, date and cocoa blend.

2510 South Broad Street, South Philly
Main Squeeze is blending fruit-packed bowls, juices and smoothies down in South Philly. For a taste of summer through a straw, try their Beach Tan smoothie made with pineapple, orange, mango, Greek yogurt and almond milk. Or, if you need a pick-me-up, opt for their Main Squeeze Mocha featuring cold brew coffee, banana, dates, chocolate whey protein and almond milk.
Ridge Avenue and Walnut Lane, Roxborough
You can find this smoothie, juice, and fruit salad truck at the corner of Ridge Avenue and Walnut Lane from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. All their blends are made with fresh fruit like strawberry, mango, pineapple and banana, and you can swap dairy for oat milk, fruit purée or orange juice in any smoothie.
With spots across Philadelphia, Bucks, Delaware, and Chester counties, Playa Bowls is slinging smoothies and smoothie bowls all over the region. The majority of their cupped blends feature a coconut-milk base blended with a variety of fresh fruits and add-ins like peanut butter and protein powder, though almond milk and cashew milk are also available.

New to Philly this year is Pressed, a juicery that also serves smoothies, smoothie bowls and vegan ice cream. Their bottled smoothies come in blends like strawberry-orange-mango and chocolate with banana, while their bowls feature passion fruit or açaí bases topped with ingredients like fresh fruit, granola and coconut flakes.
You can rest assured that a smoothie from this Rittenhouse gem is totally organic, vegan and gluten-free. Their smoothie menu includes superfoods, such as açaí and dragonfruit, as well as blends like the Mango Lassi and dessert-like Tiramasmoothie.

Health food shop Reap Mini Mart — from the meal delivery company Reap Wellness — features a blend bar that makes plant-forward smoothies on the spot. Their nourishing concoctions feature a range of flavors: spinach-mango-ginger, cold brew coffee with banana and tahini, orange creamsicle (with butternut squash!), peach pie and more. All blends are made with Reap’s house-made almond and hemp seed milks, which can be subbed for oat milk.
701 South 50th Street, West Philly
This West Philly cafe has been serving up coffee, tea, lattes, pastries and smoothies since 2004. For the blended bev, you’ve got options including kale-banana, beet-ginger, and a banana smoothie made with hot pepper honey, cinnamon, and almond milk.
Sure, SoBol makes some killer açaí bowls, but their smoothies aren’t anything to bypass, either. Choose from their popular açaí or pitaya flavors, or opt for a berry-filled or green smoothie.

263 North 3rd Street, Old City
Despite the name, cold-pressed juice isn’t the only thing Stripp’d Juice is slinging behind the counter. This Old City shop also has a variety of energizing smoothies, like an elevated peanut butter and jelly blend and a vanilla bean-based bev. (They also have bowls, toasts, and wellness shots!)
1221 South Broad Street, South Philly and 1240 North 50th Street, West Philly
At its two locations in South and West Philly, Sweet Treat Hut offers an extensive menu of smoothies, including seasonal specials and a create-your-own option. Enjoy an array of flavorful blends, from Banana Nut Bread and Green Apple Ice Cream to Apple Cranberry and Chunky Monkey.
The Wellness Refinery has become a Philly fan favorite, not only for their infrared sauna, but for their tonic bar serving good-for-you drinks. Designed by their in-house certified nutrition specialist, all of their organic smoothies put superfoods and adaptogenic herbs at the forefront, with ingredients like kale, pistachios, tahini and chlorella in the mix. You can also get lattes, teas and fresh-pressed juices.
Yaas creates bowls, smoothies, bubble tea, and sweets (Ube tres leches! Matcha vanilla croissants!) out of its South Street shop. For smoothies, you have a bunch of choices, like Beets Me, Peaches and Cream, and Piña Colada.
